something I forgot!

A month from today, I will be turning 32 years old. (Yeah, I'm really that old!) lol. I'm actually excited about it and unlike last year, I want to get together with a bunch of people instead of having a quiet bday..anyone coming to LA a month from now?? lol.

knitterly progress

I thought that some inquiring minds would want to see how things were going with the projects I've been working on as of late. I didn't snap any photos of thermal because, it hasn't grown that much since you last saw it! Here, before you, is my so-called scarf thus far. It is almost complete. I hope it get it done if not tonight at least by the time I get back from visiting my family!
Persephone is growing and turning into a magnificent thing, don't you agree? I've finally found my goove with her. I switched over to using circs and it's much easier. I went back up to size 5s too. The pattern is coming out so nicely! I kinda want to keep it for myself! :O
And last but not least, we have my traveling vines scarf. I am one pattern repeat from finishing-if I stuck with the pattern. I want to make it longer and I think I am going to go for maybe 10 more pattern repeats. It's gorgeous. Even unblocked I think it's beautiful. I can't imagine how it'll look once completed and blocked!

my favorite knit and then some!

would have to be this...from here. I wear it everywhere and bring it everytime I go out if I know I'm going to gone into the evening. It keeps my poor sensitive to the cold ears warm! I don't even care if it doesn't match with whatever I'm wearing, I still wear the thing. I've been wanting to make one for my fiance, but am not sure what colors I'm going to use. I have a full skein leftover from this but can't decide on what solid color will complement it. I've got skeins leftover from these projects as well. I will probably end up making him this instead with the two leftover skeins from those two projects but I'm not too sure I want to go with a blue/green color scheme. What do you guys things? I like the brown and off-white used in the pattern and honestly, those are my fiance's colors. He's very into the neutrals. We'll see. I kind of want to cast on for this hat now but I know I should wait.

stitch markers galore!

I worked on these on Monday, after finding out that I didn't have to go in to work that day. :)

I worked on all of these today.

I mailed off a set of stitch markers today. Tomorrow I will finally be mailing off my first package to my sp and another set of stitch markers will go out (hopefully!). I will still have one more set that I need to send off but I need to figure out if I'm going to make them a different set or pick from the sets I've made in the last two days to send out to her. Decisions, decisions.
I've been knitting a bit here and there but not as much as I should be with all these free time on my hands. No. Instead, I'm sitting right here in front of the computer,keeping up on blogs, looking @ yarn, etc.

Oh, I did get this in the mail yesterday for my sp. :)I wasn't expecting such a blue explosion. I hope she likes it. It is Colinette Jitterbug color Jewel. It's going to go in either her second or final package from me. :) I'm still waiting on some of the books I ordered from Amazon to get here as well.
You know that snap preview feature-the one that is on some blogs and when you drag your cursor over a link it provides a preview to the link? I signed up for it! Here, I thought it was only available to people who had typepad or wordpress but I was mistaken. Someone on blogger had it so I clicked on their link and voila. :) It's the little things that bring joy, you know? ;)

great news!

So I just had to share that I don't have to go to work today (or Wednesday for that matter!)! :) My one client that I was supposed to see today (movie star girl) won't be back from her vacation until next Monday. :) I'm so glad. Now I don't have to feel guilty about sitting in front of the computer for most of the day (to catch up on blogs I haven't commented on!)! I can get all my packages together that need to go out, finish the stitchmarkers I started last week (and start some new ones!) and work on some letters. :) I was a good knitter last night and knitted on every single one of my current pressing projects. I think I'm going to be done with my so-called scarf very soon too. Thermal is at about 9 inches right now--only 6 more to go(!!!!). :P Oh, and I set up my swift and winder last night. I wound a ball of my artyarns and I let my sister wind another one. My fiance didn't get a turn but it's still set up and I'm probably going to just leave the set-up out. He wanted to get a pic of me winding last night but I told him the lighting was bad and it wasn't a good idea. Oh other good news (don't know how I failed to mention this in last night's post..must've been all the red getting to me!)-my sister is going to learn how to knit! I failed to mention that she was my color expert yesterday while yarn shopping and she was touching all the fo's (as was my fiance) and particularly liked the felted bags they had there. In the car, I suggested that she learn how to knit (I've been trying to get her to do something crafty as a destressor!). I've suggested needlepoint, scrapbooking, jewelrymaking, etc. So in the car I told her she should learn how to knit..she can be the one that knits bags and does felted stuff because it's an avenue I have yet to venture out in and she seemed to like that idea. I told her I'd teach her and she kind of lit up and said, "Oh yeah??" ;) So this weekend, while we're home for Easter, I'm going to teach her how to knit. :) Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I noticed a possible interest in knitting from her when I saw her watching me as I worked on my so-called scarf. She was looking at the stitching and watching me knit. She hadn't ever done that before! I can't wait. :) Oooh, the excitement continues. :) I received my partner for the Get Stitchy Stitch Marker Exchange today. :) Here's a link to her blog. I absolutely love that hoodie she made for ms. mandy pie! :) I also just stumbled upon yet another person wanting to revive the lost art of letter-writing. I don't know when the last day is to sign up so sign up quickly if you're interested! :)

a red day

My persephone scarf is growing! I'm still not completely in love with my yarn choice but it is really soft! And look at the amazing cable pattern that is appearing before my very eyes! I went down a needle and am using 5's instead of 6's. I changed needles too. I was using some slippery ones and was losing stitches here and there so I'm now using some balene straights and I went down to a 4 to see if there would be a difference. It's a quick knit. I have calculated that if I just do one pattern repeat a day (16 rows) I'll be done in 22 days. I'm halfway through my pattern repeat for the day!
What's this red goodness? It's the yarn I picked out for my wicked. Talk about a splurge! I wanted to head down to Stitch Cafe and Unwind today to pick up my yarn for my wicked (from unwind) and my yarn for Carie from fitted knits but we only had time to stop off at one of the shops because we had to get my sister to work on time! Since we only hit one store and I only had about 30 min. tops in the store, I decided I'd get the yarn for my wicked. My fiance is the one who splurged. :) ETA: I realized after I had already posted this that I forgot to put what yarn this is! It is ArtYarns SuperMerino # 115. They had some rio de la plata but I wanted some malabrigo for the carie. The pattern calls for cascade magnum and I saw on someone's blog that they subbed malabrigo for the cascade (for something else) which I thought was a wonderful idea! I'm going to wait though. It's not like I'm going to be able to cast on for it anytime soon!
